With almost constant sunshine, the French Riviera (Côte d'Azur) is an ideal destination for making the most of the Mediterranean coast. It includes a large number of resorts, from Var to Alpes-Maritimes.

Between Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer and Saint-Raphaël, the Var coastline is dotted with renowned seaside resorts. There is Saint-Tropez, of course, the most legendary resort town that welcomes holidaymakers and celebrities in a charming setting. With a rich historical, natural and cultural heritage, Hyères is a resort for all the family. It is also the point of departure for the three sublime Golden Islands (îles d'Or), which are Porquerolles, Port Cros and Le Levant. In the heart of nature, Ramatuelle is a pretty, typically Provençal village where peace and quiet reign, just a few minutes from the magnificent Bay of Pampelonne. Situated between dunes and a lagoon and exposed to the winds, the long beach of Saint-Aygulf is sure to win over kitesurfing and windsurfing enthusiasts.

There is also Saint-Raphaël with its beautiful sandy beaches, where you can enjoy a stroll around the old harbour and enjoy the activities on the seafront. Nearby, Les Issambres offers kilometres of beaches, coves and rocky inlets, amid wild, green countryside. The charming resort of Cavalaire-sur-Mer is ideal for water sports and alternates between sandy beaches and coves. Surrounded by the Maures Massif, Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer is a resort with especially abundant woodland, offering an idyllic setting between sandy beaches and a lush environment. The authentic fishing village of Le Lavandou offers a wide variety of leisure activities and a dozen beaches. We should also mention Six-Fours-les-Plages, between sea and forest, Bandol, one of the oldest seaside resorts on the coast, and Sanary-sur-Mer with its authentic fishing port.

Alpes-Maritimes also has many lovely resorts. Théoule-sur-Mer with its heavenly little coves and sandy beaches surrounded by the fabulous scenery of the Esterel. Nice, an iconic city with its Promenade des Anglais and typical winding streets. Near the Italian border, Menton is characterised by elegant architecture, houses with colourful façades and exotic gardens. The turquoise waters in the magnificent harbour of Villefranche-sur-Mer invite you to take it easy. The resort of Juan-les-Pins, meanwhile, is very popular with holidaymakers who have a soft spot for its beautiful sandy beach and lively nightlife! Nearby and sheltered from the wind, Golfe-Juan is ideal for many water sports with its harbours and long beaches.

Near the border with Monaco, Cap-d'Ail has magnificent beaches and is best explored along the coastal path which offers beautiful views of the seaside. Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, with its famous peninsula covered in lush greenery, also boasts superb scenery for you to admire along a pleasant coastal walk. Lovers of relaxation and nightlife should head to Antibes, while those in search of high-end shopping will enjoy a trip to Cannes. Overlooking the sea, the charming medieval village of Èze will not fail to enchant lovers of old buildings, while the Belle Époque architecture of Beaulieu-sur-Mer will attract the romantics. Finally, Mandelieu-la-Napoule, located at the foot of the Esterel and Tanneron massifs, is a favourite destination for golfers, who can also enjoy its beautiful sandy beaches.
