Additional information
Saint-Amand-sur-Fion

Village agricultural and wine located 2 km from the RN44, between Vitry-le-François and Châlons-en-Champagne. Saint-Amand, with its river, feelings, mills and laundries, is characterized by its many half-timbered houses and mud, and its remarkable church of the 12th and 13th centuries. A charming must.

Things to see and do

"The wonder": the church of Saint-Amand (monument) was built between 1138 and 1147. Only two gates, a tower containing a spiral staircase and parts of the nave attest to the Romanesque period. It was rebuilt in white chalk in the 13th century in the Gothic style. Its porch is like a cloister.

Museum of horse-drawn carriages (private collection). Visit by appointment.

Small estates to discover along the river Fion.

Farms with ancient courtyard and street-door (entrance porch).

The gardens near the church.

Beautiful walks in the village and in the alleys around (and trails GR14).

Events and festivities

Saint-Amand is facilitated numerous specific association events (please inquire).

Mid-June: Festivals of music.

2nd Sunday of September: Feast.

4th Sunday of September: Large flea market reputation.
