Nestling at the heart of the Morvan Regional Nature Park, in the communes of Chaumard and Ouroux-en-Morvan, Pannecière artificial lake is the Morvan's biggest lake, with a surface area of 520 hectares. Built between 1937 and 1949, following the big floods in Paris, with the aim of regulating the water of the Seine, Pannecière Lake is now a popular destination for fishing. A quiet, peaceful place that fishing fans will appreciate for its water full of fish, especially carnivorous and white fish, and its wooded hillside setting.
Fans of hiking, horse-riding and mountain biking can also find plenty to enjoy on the lanes and paths around the lake.
