In the 9th arrondissement, not far from the Madeleine Church and the Grands Boulevards, the famous Garnier Palace, inaugurated in 1875, is one of Paris' iconic monuments. A listed historic monument since 1923, this sumptuous edifice adorned with many sculptures, built by Charles Garnier at the request of Napoleon III, is a real architectural masterpiece that continues to enchant passing tourists.

Open to visitors by day, the Garnier Opera House is full of treasures, like the large lobby, which is very impressive with its gilding and paintings. The big marble ceremonial staircase and the magnificent Italian-style concert hall, with its ceiling painted by Chagall in 1964, are also very splendid.

Close to the Opéra Metro station, the Garnier Palace has hosted some of the world's greatest ballets and operas and offers opera and dance lovers a very exciting programme of events!
