The Châlus-Chabrol castle - Tourism in the Haute-Vienne

Overlooking the roofs of the city of Châlus, the Châlus-Chabrol castle consists of the keep, the remains of the chapel and the main building. The arrow that mortally wounded Richard of Lionheart, King of England, in 1199 was fired from this castle. His entrails are buried in the castle's old chapel.

A small museum dedicated to the profession of feuillardier (chestnut woodcutter), a beautiful panorama from the keep, as well as a medieval garden and a French-style formal garden complete the visit.
