Cambo-les-Bains

The city has four very different neighborhoods:

• The top Cambo:

• Panoramic view of the Nive valley and mountains.
• Shopping street.
• Church dates from the seventeenth century and is one of the most typical of the region, with its raised altar, its Baroque altarpiece and finally superimposed galleries its carved wood. All around, we discover the disc-shaped steles typical of Basque funerary art.
• The museum of Edmond Rostand: Arnaga Villa. This masterpiece of neo-Basque architecture was built in 1903. Edmond Rostand, author of Cyrano de Bergerac, planted in a green house of his dreams. The walker discovers a Versailles garden with flower beds, pergolas and parts of water, through the aisles of hydrangeas and a wooded park. Inside the Villa, an original collection of objects and works of art evokes the famous writer and his family in a sumptuous setting. Majestically plot facing the blue hills, the French garden unfolds at the foot of the house as a decoration of theater, combining three elements: mineral, vegetable and water. The English garden offers a range of scents, colors and shapes that awaken the senses of the visitor. Site classified "historical monument", "Museum of France" and "House of the illustrious". The gardens have received the label "Remarkable Garden". The villa is open from 28 March to the end of the Thanksgiving holiday. In March, on Saturdays and Sundays from 14 to 17.30. • The Netherlands Cambo picturesque: old houses with the colors red blood, its laundry, its Roman bridge.
• The Hill of the fold: on the path that leads to the hill, one can discover the chapel with icons, built in 1960 by priests in treatment in Cambo. Inaugurated in 1964, its interior design began 10 years later by Albert Proux painter from Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle. At the top of the hill, panoramic views and picnic area.
• The Quartier des Thermes: the 15-hectare park of the Thermal baths, beautifully ornate, is lush and exotic. Its exotic atmosphere is due to the presence of 80 palm trees. • In October : Feast of the Basque Cake: As 13,000 visitors who flock there every year visit Cambo-les-Bains the first Sunday in October for a delightful gourmet feast, that of the Basque cake!

• Ch ? ur mixte de Bayonne. - A concert that will escalate in intensity, with beautiful Basque sacred songs by the greatest composers. They are part of Basque culture, and form an important part of its rich repertoire. The program also includes a number of fine sacred pieces, demonstrating the breadth and richness of the choir ? S interpretation, which for some songs evolves to six or eight voices. - Of course, Xaramela is also committed to promoting Basque culture, and its program includes some magnificent secular and folk songs.
