Listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, Apremont-sur-Allier has charming pink ochre houses draped with flowers. A 15th-century castle towers over this picturesque village on the banks of the Allier. Although you can't go inside, you can admire the remains of this imposing fortress from the outside. The towers and main building of this handsome stone monument overlook the clear waters of the river.

Apremont-sur-Allier also has a natural site that visitors love for its pleasant atmosphere: the floral park! This wonderful space, inspired by English country gardens, covers 5 hectares of small waterfalls, flowerbeds and tree-lined promenades. During your visit, don't miss the magnificent Chinese bridge and its fish scale tile roof, whose bright red tones fit in tastefully with the lush vegetation. A short walk away, the horse-drawn carriage museum, based in the 19th-century stables, invites you to learn all there is to know about this age-old means of transport.

If you feel like it, treat yourself to a walk on the banks of the Allier on the outskirts of the village, or why not a canoe ride!

Additional information
Apremont-sur-Allier

On the borders of Berry, 16 km from Nevers, on the banks of the Allier, stands the castle of Apremont, vestige of a formidable Anglo-Burgundy fortress, belonging since 1722 to the same family, in female line.

At its feet, extends a medieval village, with picturesque flower houses.

In 1970, a floral park is open to the public to enhance the site. This garden, "Miles and Nights", with the rarest species, is embellished with "follies", in the spirit of the second half of the eighteenth century, such as the Pagoda Bridge with its roof in scales, the Turkish Pavilion or still the Belvedere, which overhangs the river and the roofs of the village.
