Pass below the railway bridge and turn right along the path that follows the railway line.
Continue along the path to the village of Gissey-sous-Flavigny. In Gissey, You can visit the 12th century church, and, opposite the square along the main road (D10), pass between two old stone houses, where you will find the "Manoir", the old medieval building which served to protect villagers during the Wars of Religion. Take the road from Hauteroche (D10e), which climbs and passes through Roches Wood. On the way out of the wood, turn left along the Gallo-Roman way at Landran excavation site and follow this path to the wood and the end of the communal road down to Thenissey; or continue along the D10e to the village of Hauteroche to admire the view over the Ozerain valley and Flavigny-sur-Ozerain and visit the picturesque Saint-Léger church and the old village. On the way out of the village, continue straight ahead and, at the crossroads between two roads, turn left at the cross. Climb up this communal road, enter the wood and descend to the village of Thenissey.
