A bucolic walk along the Aar, which separates Schiltigheim from Strasbourg, and the Marne from the Rhine Canal, with ducks and swans as your companions to the splendid Orangery Park with its small zoo, storks and rowing boats on the lake. Along the way, you will have the chance to admire the European Parliament reflected in the water. The Orangery is a natural haven with large trees and superb plants.

Access

From Rue Contades, cross Rue Mendès-France and follow the Aar to the wash house.

Itinerary

From the wash house, take Avenue Pierre Mendès France, and follow the Aar. After the children's play area and the football ground, take the footbridge over the Marne to Rhine Canal, turn right and take the footbridge and make your way to the Parliament building along the canal. On your left, you will see the Court of Human Rights, with its "red pipes" (which will remind you of Beaubourg in Paris?). Cross the second large bridge and arrive at the Council of Europe, opposite the Orangery. Return to the starting point along the same route.
