Site where rhyolite millstones were quarried in prehistoric times (iron age) up until the 18th century. Old hill fort which provided a home for Ligurians in the prehistoric and protohistoric periods. View over the mountains of the Haut Var to the north and over the sea to the south.

Park your car on the Draguignan road, car park at the new cemetery. Follow the trail southwards (old Fréjus - Puget road).
Follow the trail that climbs upwards and offers a clear view to the left over the village of Bagnols-en-Forêt.
When the trail splits into two, take the path on the right. You will arrive at the "Pierre du Coucou" Pass.
Follow the signpost indicating: "meules". There is a steep climb up on the right (GR). Along the path with millstones in the process of excavation, you will see the cavities from where the millstones were extracted... Look out for the "rocher de l'écureuil" (squirrel rock).
Continue along the ridge westwards to the "Oppidum" sign. Continue in this direction (North) to the "Oppidum". Ceramic sign indicating "cabanes".
Return via the way you came.
