Travel along the splendid mule trail or “laisse”, which was once planted with vines. It was created by the Knights Hospitaller to connect La Bastide-Pradines with the Saint-Félix-de-Sorgues commandery, and passed through Viala-du-Pas-de-Jaux. Sights along the way: the Resistance fighters cave, the viewpoints of the Cernon Valley, the village of La Bastide-Pradines and the Causse du Larzac plateau.

Depart from La Bastide-Pradines station.
Turn right along the railway for 600 m. Turn right onto the track that slopes gently uphill through the woods along the valley before crossing it to remain on the right bank.
Go through the gate and go up the valley along a pretty "bouissière" (box hedge path). The path veers to the left, goes across a first ravine, then goes steeply uphill along a second ravine.
Turn right onto the track to the Resistance fighters’ cave. Continue uphill in the same direction. Shortly afterwards, the track turns into a steep, stony trail that goes up to the plateau (follow the signs carefully).
Walk along the edge of the plateau to the right, towards the rocks, and exit onto the track that goes up out of the valley.
You can walk to the Lion’s Rock and back in 20 min.
Go downhill along the track to the right. At the intersection, turn off to the left, walk down the “boussière” along the hillside, cross the patch of short grassland and continue to the station along the path through the pine forest.
