Access

Depart from Saint-Agrève: Place des Cévennes (opposite the post office, on Avenue des Cévennes).

Itinerary

D1: Depart from Place des Cévennes in Saint-Agrève. Continue along the D 120 for 1.5 km. At San Martine, take the path on your left and stay on it until you reach a small road. Turn right and pass through the hamlet of Monteillet. Take the first path on the left then right to the next crossroads to join the D 21 at the hamlet of Lichessol. Turn left on to it and continue to Domazon. Take the path on the left of the houses and stay on it until Cadet. Here, continue along the road for 200 m, then turn left to the path that climbs up towards the forest. Leave a path on the left and one on the right and continue through the forest to Serre d'Ambalès. Stay on the main path which follows the Citadel Hill. Stop at the wind turbines. Retrace your footsteps to Cadet-Le Maupas and make your way towards Désaignes following the old Roman Way for 8 km. Arrive in the village centre for the visit.

D2: Depart from Place de la Mairie in the village centre. Outside the medieval gate, make your way towards Pont du Massoir bridge. Follow the road to the Pont du Massoir bridge and cross it. At the intersection, turn left towards Jeaute. Continue for 1.2 km to Cluzels. At the intersection, take the path on your right. This climbs for 6.6 km up to the ruins of Rochebloine. Enjoy the magnificent view over the Doux valley. Then, take the path on your right towards Malfragner. Visit the mill and the trout farm. Take the path that passes behind the lakes towards Issartial. At the intersection, continue straight ahead to the Grange neighbourhood. On your right, take the path up to the centre of the village of Labatie-d'Andaure.

D3: Depart from Labatie-d'Andaure. Follow the path towards Petignon. Stay on it to La Roche. At the crossroads, take the path on your left to Serre de Tracol. Continue straight ahead to the Brun Pass. Continue along the road (D276) for 400 m. In Fontaneyre, turn left on to the dirt track. Follow it, cross the D 214 and continue along the same path. When you arrive at a crossroads, cross the D 9 and walk around the house. Take the GR 42 on your right. The GR then separates with a variant. Take this path on the left to Devesset Lake. Continue to the "Pioullouse" intersection. From there, follow the GR 42 to the Devesset Commandery. Take the path on the right around the lake.

D4: Set out towards Saint-Agrève along the GR 43.In Rèche, take the path on your right and continue to Mount Chiniac and admire the landscape on the plateau. Continue along the GR to the village centre. Return to the car park from where you started.
