The theater barn Vaugarni to Pont-de-Ruan represents for visitors, a place so far away, in full Touraine countryside. This privileged space is passed without transition from the state of existing agricultural farm in the eleventh century, a space where shows since 2003! The transformation of these agricultural buildings in a private theater was born from a personal project stubborn and particularly daring that has borne fruit because it is now a regional cultural destination leading... and the locals were incredibly lucky to benefit! Many performances are given in order to spread the culture (theater, comedy, musicals, open stage) on site, but also in the surrounding communes.

The buildings were married exactly the original foundations; it is now: a barn into a theater with 120 seats, another barn "cabaret" of 50 seats, a house and a small residence where artists can stay and rehearse in peace. The organization is supported by an association and the price of performances given from February to June and September to December is really low.

In this bucolic valley, these are really few hours of holy loneliness brightened by the arts which contribute to change the world!

Access

From the square Alexander Calder in Saché (town hall), take the direction of Druyes, pass the three bridges. At the stop sign, turn right and go straight in the direction of Artannes sur Indre by road D 84. At 1300 m, the top of the hill, turn sharply to the left... further 200 m on the small road up and park on the small car park at the junction of the rider crossed driveway. You have arrived.

Itinerary

Go back down the lane walk (with your camera). Then discover the elegant and stately mansion Vonnes (XV century), "this castle carved like a flower that seems not to lay on the floor" as described so well Honore de Balzac in his novel "lily in the valley "... in the bottom of the grassy valley, a large herd of white oxen often forms a bucolic view at will.

Replace the lane and continue your road for 800 meters: you will have 400m more stunning views of the manor which can be discovered from east to west with its terraced gardens (change it for a late afternoon sunny). You then approach a pretty quiet valley, barely troubled by a farmyard, sheep or goats... After the two small car parks, walk 50 meters on the right. You have arrived at the "barn theater Vaugarni".

You can expect to stay in the area if a demonstration is planned (bring a flashlight for the night) and then come back later in parking your vehicle on one of the theater parking (it is advisable to book for the evening).

Return by the same route.

You can also continue your walk by turning left, west, after the two car parks, small stony path up towards the forest. After 200 m, the "signs", you can either go right, to the priory of Relay, either turn left to reach your car through the forest. Make another 800 m, take the little muddy path. The castle of Goatherd (not visible and private) is on your right. After 100m, take the bridle path on your left; after 400 m, you are back to your starting point.
