Maison Chabbert opens the doors of a charming mansion. You will appreciate the warm atmosphere and the calm of a pretty flowered garden. You will stay in a spacious and comfortable room with private bathroom. For your relaxation you will settle in a sunny or shady corner of the garden or in the cozy living rooms. Several times a week, it is possible to take a seat at the host table to share with your hosts and other travelers of the moment, a tasty dinner in a friendly atmosphere. The house is quietly located in the historic village of Beaufort which has about 200 inhabitants. Every Thursday evening from June to September petanque competitions are held at the Municipal Bowling alley. Above the village stands a castle, which originally served as a defense town of the picturesque village of Minerve. The latter, which is 10 km from Beaufort, is classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France and is being certified Grand Site of France. The village of Olonzac, 3 kilometers, offers all the amenities and a large traditional market that takes place every Tuesday morning. Being located at the border of the departments of Hérault and Aude, Beaufort is the perfect starting point to discover the Minervois terroir, the Cathar Country, rich in history, the Regional Natural Park of Haut-Languedoc and the Natural Park Regional Narbonnaise and Mediterranean. In the middle of the vineyards it is beautiful to go hiking or biking, such as a tour along the Canal du Midi. It is definitely worth a stop at the pretty marinas like Homps and Le Somail. It is a pleasure to observe the boats that are locked. At the Aiguille lock you can admire an original and humorous exhibition of sculptures by the lock keeper. There is a wide choice of hiking trails that are well signposted and that take you through flat, hilly or mountainous landscapes.
