Native of Lamotte-Beuvron in Sologne, the Tarte Tatin is a delicious caramelized apple pie. The real Tarte Tatin is obtained in a mould with high edges covered by sugar and cut apples. The bottom is then put caramelized and the pie is finally covered with a dough before being put in the oven. Traditionally, the real Tarte Tatin is self-sufficient and eaten as such. A true delight! However, according to preferences, it can also be served with whipped cream or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
