Surrounded by the hills of Selvert, the coast of Roses, the Kollom and Galienberg, Yutz result of the unification of high Yutz leaning against the Servert and low-Yutz Macquenon and spreading in the Moselle valley. The altitude of this charming town in the Moselle department just 4 km from Thionville is 155 meters while the highest peak of the surrounding hills rising to 219 meters.
Since ancient times, Yutz advantage of its strategic position placed on the alluvial side of the elbow of the Moselle River before it joins the Rhine. Formerly village of potters in Roman times, Yutz has remarkable vases currently on display at the British Museum in London.
