City Wasselonne fits in lush natural orchards and hills, and enjoys a privileged location in the foothills of the Vosges, near the Wine Road. This situation is causing a great variety of landscapes: crops, vineyards, orchards, meadows and forests. Wasselonne is the starting point for walks and excursions in the forest in Vosges, through the marked trails of the Vosges Club.
In addition, the city has a rich history as evidenced by its heritage; one can admire the remains of the castle (round tower and square tower, the latter is free to the public by prior request to the Tourist Office), the Silbermann organ of the Saint-Laurent (Protestant) many half-timbered houses, some with views to the walkers door lintels adorned with signs trades local crafts.

With a rich industrial heritage that remains unknown, the common Wasselonne has also set up a path of interpretation in order to enhance the industrial past of the city that has forged its identity for three centuries. This circuit is to do it yourself, walk or bike.
Mossig allows the growth of the industry in the eighteenth century, providing water to tanneries and water power to mills that settled in the river. From the hamlet of Wasselonne Stationery through the neighborhood Brechlingen, 19 mills and plants working with water power are identified in 1773.
In the nineteenth century, breweries, woolen mills and especially the slippers industry take over. The major innovations of the era in transportation, communication, energy, health... are also discussed throughout the course. Trail of industrial heritage, from the parking of 23 November Street, is split into two trilingual circuits (French, German, English): "Wasselonne Mossig side" (9 panels, about 1 hour for pedestrians) and " around Brechlingen "(8 panels, about 1:30, for pedestrians and cyclists). The trail Wasselonne industrial heritage has achieved certification under the European Year for Cultural Heritage in 2018.
In summer, the Tourist Office will invite you to his home aperitifs with discovery of the square tower of the castle and tasting kougelhopfs and wine industry.
Activities: tennis on outdoor courts or in the indoor court, football, swimming at the inter-pool covered, basketball, cycling or rollerblading on the bike path that starts at Wasselonne. There is something for every taste !
