Vertus is a historic city with regard to its heritage. It welcomed the Counts of Champagne to its castle, of which only the Baudet gate remains today. It also gave birth to the poet Eustache Deschamps who served Kings Charles V and Charles VI.
Today, the locality is part of the Champagne Tourist Route (vineyard of the Côte des Blancs) and obtained the Sustainable Embellishment Prize in 2009 and 2010.

Gionges is located near Vertus and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
The village of more than 500 inhabitants is surrounded by vineyards.
The locality of Oger became famous by hosting the residence of Léon Bourgeois, initiator of the League of Nations and Nobel Peace Prize winner. It is located between Epernay and Vertus southern slopes.
Today, this wine-growing village on the Côte des Blancs is crossed by the Champagne Tourist Route. Its notoriety is all the more important as it received the Gold Medal of the European Flowering Prize in 2005.
