Common new Moselle River, Grand-Est region Rezonville-Vionville takes place about fifteen kilometers from Metz, near Jussy, Gorze and Ville-sur-Yron. She was born on January 1, 2019 from the merger of Rezonville and Vionville.
Former property of the Abbey of Saint-Arnould in Metz, the town Rezonville developed initially in the Middle Ages and in the course of the nineteenth century. In 1870 it was the scene of a major battle between the Prussian and French troops which led to the detention of French in Metz. Vionville depended on it in the Middle Ages of Earth Gorze and counts of Bar. She also experienced heavy fighting related to the Franco-Prussian war of the late nineteenth century.
Today, the new city in eastern France continues to attract visitors with the charm of its landscapes and its proximity to the heritage beauties of Metz.
