Municipality of Pas-de-Calais, in Hauts-de-France, Vimy takes place only about ten kilometers from Arras and its beautiful citadel. Member of the Lens-Liévin Communaupole, it is located equidistant from the two towns, not far from Neuville-Saint-Vaast, Willerval or Roclincourt.
Of ancient origin, the municipality of Vimy has mainly developed since the Middle Ages, in particular with the construction of its castle now replaced by the town hall and which was used in particular to accommodate the wounded during the battle of Lens in the middle of the 17th century. Heavily affected by the First World War, in particular with shell holes that formed all the surrounding ponds, it has preserved from this tumultuous 20th century an important historical and memorial heritage to be discovered during a stay in the region.
