Villieu-Loyes-Mollon

Erected in the 18th century by Gabriel Dervieu de Villieu, the castle of Loyes takes place on the remains of an old castle mound from the 11th century and a fortified house. Listed as a Historic Monument, it amazes with its original architecture all in red brick. Passing visitors will be seduced by the neo-Gothic portal and crenellated towers, but also by the impressive park. Created by a successor to Le Nôtre, it takes the form of a French garden, with straight paths, and an English garden modified in the 19th century. By taking the small stone bridge, you can access the vegetable garden.

While walking through the town, do not miss to admire the various churches such as those of Saint-Laurent de Mollon, Saint-Pierre de Villieu (a neo-Gothic building) or Sainte-Madeleine in Loyes (also in neo-gothic style).

In mid-July, the town celebrates the national holiday with fireworks and a popular ball.

A comedy festival with a large choice of shows is offered in October.

At the beginning of December, the town celebrates the Festival of Lights.
