Common important Île-de-France, Villiers-sur-Marne is located in the department of Val-de-Marne, about fifteen kilometers from the French capital, Paris. Door of the new city entrance of Marne-la-Vallée, it is particularly bordering the Seine-Saint-Denis via the town of Noisy-le-Grand.

Once a small, Villiers-sur-Marne became a great Parisian suburb thanks to the many building subdivisions in the 1930s His attachment to Marne-la-Vallée has enabled it to develop economically in the years 1960-1970 saw the appearance of several new districts.

Things to see and do

The wealth of Villiers-sur-Marne lies mainly in its green spaces that offer places for residents to breathe. We note as well the presence of park woods of Saint-Denis, or the St. Martin Wood shared with several neighboring municipalities. Squares and many smaller parks in the town, to assess children's games and various other amenities.

Emile-Jean museum was founded in 1973 in a historic building from the nineteenth century. He revealed through several rooms the history of the city through the collections on everyday life, mayors, rural life of yesteryear or the personalities who lived in Villiers-sur-Marne.

The church of Saint-Denis-Saint-Christophe does not lack more charm and deserves attention for a moment.

The art center Aponia was founded in 1998 and offers an introduction to art in all its forms, including through various exhibitions.

Both markets take place in the city: that of chestnut Wednesday and Saturday morning, and that of Bude, Thursday and Sunday morning and Friday afternoon.

Between September and October, the Marne festival is held in different cities of the department, which Villiers-sur-Marne, and offers concerts of all kinds.

A bustling Christmas market is held in December.
