A 12th century fortress transformed into a residence in the 15th century, Villevêque castle in Rives-du-Loir-en-Anjou is today accessible to visitors. Once past the courtyard gates, visitors can discover a beautiful building transformed into a museum.
The site has two rooms on the ground floor composed of art objects from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, with ceramics, statuettes or other tapestries. Hispano-Moorish and Italian ceramics, Limousin enamels and a stone apostle's head from the 13th century are visible there.
The visit to the Château de Villevêque continues with a visit to the park which hosts the Nov'art exhibition every summer.
