Museum Paléontologique

Leisure centre in Villers-sur-Mer

A paleontological museum located at Villers-sur-Mer, in Calvados, the Paléospace l'Odyssée opened its doors in 2011. Dedicated to the Greenwich meridian, the nearby marsh and the fossils discovered on the cliffs of the Vaches Noires, it is the only site in Normandy devoted to paleontology.

Atypical, this new kind of museum takes you back to the Jurassic era through very playful interactive and sensory reconstructions. Visitors can take advantage of a 300 m² exhibition space divided into several thematic spaces: the Normandy dinosaur room, the Jurassic gallery, the Greenwich meridian room, the Marais alcove or the 360° planetarium which allows you to take a commented trip through the constellations, the stars and the Milky Way.

Young and old will be delighted to discover a 10 m long pliosaur, saltwater crocodiles or even impressive ammonites.

Throughout the year, the paleontological museum hosts workshops, themed tours and exhibitions for the whole family.
