Things to see and do

The historical heritage of Villeneuve-lez-Avignon is exceptional. Indeed, six monuments are open to visitors: Fort Saint André and Chartreuse du Val de Benediction, one of the largest in Europe, the Saint-André and its gardens labeled Remarkable Gardens, the Notre -Dame the tower Philip the Handsome and rich Pierre de Luxembourg museum.

Hill Mourgues, preserved park in the heart of the city with remarkable points of view across and Avignon, and the classified site of the Plaine de l'Abbaye along the Rhone are natural spaces offered to walkers.

All year the city offers diverse activities, suited to families and individuals.

Ample free parking is available at the entrance of the historic center. A bus line connects in 10 minutes the center of Avignon three times per hour.

Events and festivities

Every Thursday morning on the Place Charles David, the Provencal market.

On Saturday morning the market "organic" takes place Jean Jaurès.

Also on Saturday morning, the flea market is held on the Place Charles David.

Every year in July, Villeneuve participated at the Avignon festival with Summer Dating Chartreuse and Villeneuve festival in specialized scene in the itinerant theater.

The Polar festival, the first weekend of October, met in the chartreuse passionate about famous writers.
