Commune of Indre, in the former region of Berry, Villedieu-sur-Indre takes place ten kilometers from Buzançais, and thirteen kilometers from Chateauroux. It is located in the heart of Champagne Berry, not far from Saint-Maur.
Historically very rich, the town of Villedieu-sur-Indre has developed in the Gallo-Roman era, as evidenced by the archaeological remains found on the spot. It grew in the first half of the nineteenth century absorbing its neighbors, Chambon and Mehun, thus taking its current appearance. It is seduced by its gastronomic specialties, notably forming part of the area of milk production, production and ripening of the famous Valençay cheese.
Full of charm, the city also has an interesting architectural heritage that bears witness to this glorious past over the centuries.
