Villardonnel

Communal Cemetery located on a hill at an unusual distance from the village. He found there a Carolingian chapel of the ninth century, Notre-Dame-de-Canabès, allegedly according to legend built by Charlemagne. Also included is the tomb-chapel of the family Mahul in pretty bad shape.

In the parish church of St. John the Baptist (XIII century) rebuilt in 1520, can be admired at the altar, columns of pink marble from the quarries of Caunes-Minervois.

South of the town, on the road leading to Salsigne, are the ruins of an old gold mine. The stream that runs this place has beautiful geological formations like "potholes". Unfortunately, access is not easy but the site is unique. These formations are known to people in their Occitan name: Gourg of oules.

In the village center, surrounded by a large park, stands the castle of the family Mahul, now private property. It is a curious work of the nineteenth century neo-Gothic falsely.

The giant Cabrespine: In 2008 was celebrated the 40th anniversary of the discovery of Cabrespine chasm, but at the same time the 20th anniversary of its opening to the public.

The Brousses paper mill or mill Cambou is located on the small town of Brousses-et-Villaret in the Aude department. Built in the late eighteenth century, it is the last paper mill of Languedoc still active.
