Located on the banks of the Rhine, at the birth of the Grand Canal of Alsace, Village-Neuf is a municipality in the trinational agglomeration of Basel. It takes place in the Three Borders region, near Switzerland and Germany.
Mainly agricultural, the municipality of Village-Neuf has had a turbulent history, passing from hand to hand. Attached to France by the Treaty of Westphalia in the middle of the 17th century, it has become famous in history for its exceptional geographical location.
Today, Village-Neuf continues to make itself known through its market gardening, especially with its asparagus harvested in the sandy land of the town.
