Vielle-Aure village, situated 800 m above sea level, extends along the Neste d'Aure. The heart of the village is an authentic whole house fhould 17th and XVIII, with a Romanesque church.

Near Saint-Lary, resort and spa, not far from the Spanish border, Vielle-Aure is located on the GR 10 which connects the west to the Nature Reserve Néouvielle. To the east, this route can reach other villages in the canton. The trail route to St Jacques passes through the village to reach Spain.

Things to see and do

Visiting the mines Vielle-Aure: one hour 40 minutes visiting with underground adventure ... manganese mines with 320 meters of gallery, which will be explained by a sound and light path and the daily operation of the mine.

The Aquascope: a mock-up on the theme of water, explains some of the local history.

Church Vielle-Aure: dedicated to St. Bartholomew, it was built in the 12th century. Bell to three bays columns, crowned by a spire of the 17th century. A pure jewel of Romanesque art. His mural restored in 1969.
