Commune of Haute-Corse, Vescovato takes place on the old piève of Casinca, on the edge of the Regional Natural Park of Corsica. It is located between the Marana Plain and the Eastern Plain, on the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea, not far from Lucciana, Monte and Castellare-di-Casinca.
Occupied since Antiquity, the territory of Vescovato developed in the Middle Ages, notably under the authority of the Marquis of Massa. Residence of bishops from the 13th century, the town was really born at this time under the influence of Opizo Pernice, bishop of Mariana.
Today, this Corsican city is mainly geared towards tourism, seducing visitors with its religious architectural heritage and its exceptional landscapes.
