Rural village of New Aquitaine located in the department of Vienne, Vernon takes place not far from Poitiers and Vivonne. It is close to the famous Regional Nature Park of Brenne, ideal for enjoying the local fauna and flora.
A commune already present in the thirteenth century, until the French Revolution, Vernon was under the religious yoke of Poitiers, before taking its independence. In the first half of the 19th century, the village merged with Chiré-les-Bois, located nearby.
