The construction of the church began with the construction of the apse, apse and chapels in the first half of the 12th century. Comparison with Saint-Sernin, the sculpture invites located in the lower parts of the year 1120. The leader of the transept arm is constructed in sandstone, but the upper part of the central apse is already in brick, and the triumphal arch (visible in the attic) the site seems to have continued with this material quickly . If outside, the level in the brick cornice modillion is clearly visible inside the wall paintings of the 19th century to prevent check how high the brick appears. It has not been determined, for example, if the arches bolsters that cause thinning of the wall under the arch are brick. It seems likely, the surface is smooth (ornamentation current is applied to a painted plaster in the 19th century), unlike ledges chapels carved.

Work continues, probably in the 13th century by the construction of the bell tower. The completion of the transept is probably contemporary as the foothills of the western corner of South Arm, perfectly linked to the masonry of the transept, which includes staircase provides access. The construction of the nave, to the gate input goes into the second half of the 13th century or early 14th century. The poor invoice entry portal can not be more specific. The church then has a Latin cross and a nave framed. At the end of the Middle Ages, and the transept are cross vaulted, with arches and vaults tiercerons that serve as a model in the 19th century to complete the vaulting of the church. The north aisle was built probably at the same time.

The elevation of the apse may be contemporary. It rests very clearly against the tower and the roof, the wall elevation abuts against a coated partially preserved in the eastern wall of the tower (in which the coating layers of brick were highlighted iron). The lower four bays of the tower were very probably clogged during elevation.

In the 19th century, several successive campaigns work. In the first half of the century, important works are measures undertaken by the abbot and Lassalle factory: building vaults of two bays of the nave and north aisle and construction of the south aisle, which was completed in 1841. Work on the bedside are directed by Alexander Mege from the filing of the church in 1840. They cover the windows, frescoes and sculptures.

The architect Jean-Jacques Esquié then takes the direction of work from 1853, dealing with the tiles of the nave and the chancel roof. In 1896-1897, his son Pierre Esquié fact raise three vessels to receive three independent roofing and fortification device: the work is probably completed in 1903, included a stained glass workshop of Saint-Blancat Toulouse, placed in an upper window of the nave.
