Now gone, the Château de la Motte originally took place in the heart of the town of Vannes, in Morbihan. Rebuilt at different times, it served in particular over the centuries as a residence for the kings and counts of Vannes, as the episcopal seat of the bishops of Vannes and as a prefecture hotel for the department following the events of the French Revolution.
Partly razed in the second half of the 18th century, the Château de la Motte no longer reveals any trace today.
