Located in the heart of the Pays de Caux, Valmont is a village steeped in history. Overlooking the town, the castle built by the family of Estouteville, descendant of the Grimaldi family of Monaco.
Le Vivier where Valmont originates allows a pleasant walk on foot. Do not forget the bread for wild ducks, they are very fond.
After the separation of church and state, the abbey built by Nicolas D'Estouteville has been bought by the uncle of Eugene Delacroix. It stayed there for many years, his diary testifies as many of his works. A tour in his footsteps with reproductions of paintings made on site is available at the Tourist Office.
