Things to see and do

Valleraugue:

Spread over a wide area, Valleraugue presents an interesting and charming heritage.

From Romanesque foundation and enlarged in 1686, the church of Saint-Martin de Valleraugue presents a very pretty iron campanile which shelters a bell of the beginning of the XVIe century. Nearby, you can also see the Temple of the United Protestant Church (1853) with neoclassical architecture.

While walking in the village of Valleraugue, visitors can discover the many facades and other ironwork dating from the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries that reflect the wealth brought by sericulture.

Higher up in the valley of happiness, the GR 62 will take them to the priory Notre-Dame-de-Bonheur founded in the year one thousand.

Once on Aigoual, lovers of nature and beautiful spaces can make a nice walk in the arboretum of the Hort de Dieu installed by foresters Flahaut and Fabre on the Mediterranean side of the massif in the early nineteenth century or discover the 4 floors of vegetation by climbing the 4000 steps. This mythical hike starts from the steps of the churchyard of Saint-Martin in the village at 345 m altitude and provides access to the Météo France observatory of Mount Aigoual at 1567 meters, the highest point of the town.
