Museum of the Villa Montebello

Leisure centre in Trouville-sur-Mer

Built in the second half of the 19th century, since 1972 Villa Montebello has housed the collections of the Trouville-sur-Mer museum, in Calvados. Typical of seaside architecture from the Second Empire, the building is the work of architect Jean-Louis Célinski for the Marquise de Montebello and imitates the style of 17th century castles.

Offering an incredible view over the bay of the Seine from its hill facing the sea, the Villa Montebello museum is centered on the fine arts and the birth of the Norman seaside town. There are very fine collections of ethnographic objects, paintings, prints and other works of art. Other rooms also offer thematic temporary exhibitions throughout the year.

The museum gallery, located on the quay of the port of Trouville, presents a collection dedicated to poster artist Raymond Savignac and graphic arts.
