Private Mansion of La Fage

The Hotel de la Fage is located Place Saint-Georges, in Toulouse, and its construction dates from 1745, when the authorities decided to replace the dwellings having been the victim of a fire.

The architect they mature chose to equip a facade Louis XV style where the alternation of stones and bricks contributes to the decor, front part of the facade itself is slightly raised in the center, only three bays overlooks a fronton decorated with an oculus, while the side bodies consist of five spans.

On the ground floor, continuous arches add to the character of the building.

Inside, the original decorations have disappeared or have been reworked, except the railing wrought iron Louis XV style adorning the staircase.

On the other side of the building, an ellipse in court was drawn.

On the classic look, the hotel had as first owner Lafage Henri-Joseph, descendant of a family that counted number of sheriffs (aldermen).

Partly protected as historic monuments, this example of classical architecture in the eighteenth century Toulouse that can evoke a public building (such as a town hall, for example), is now occupied by shops on the ground floor and housing or offices upstairs.
