Private Mansion of Bonnefoy

Bonnefoy The hotel is located Baragnon Cross Street in the historic center of Toulouse.

It was built from 1513 on a plot previously occupied by a house with Romanesque and Gothic elements whose facade gave Tolosane street.

The construction of this mansion was commissioned by Bérenguier Bonnefoy (or Bonnafède), one of the sheriffs of the city in 1513-1514. It's the rest why the building includes a tower, then a privilege reserved for municipal magistrates...

The building changes owners over the centuries and is restored in the years 1960-1970 in an exemplary manner.

Architecturally, we note that the set consists of several buildings surrounding a courtyard. Rebuilt in the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries, the façade, however, retained the earlier building elements (Romanesque remains).

We notice a doorway semicircular with a Latin inscription at the key of the arc and a pedestrian gate that has been built in an old arcade.

This is the brick tower housing the stairs, in the yard, intermediate style between Gothic and Renaissance, to the complex decoration, which refers to the original owner and his position as sheriff. It remains the singularity of this building of character

Finally, note that medieval cellars are still in place, rooms with ribbed vaults are located on the ground floor.
