Museum Georges Labit

Leisure centre in Toulouse

Toulouse installed along the Canal du Midi and in the heart of a lush garden, the Georges Labit museum is the Museum of Arts of Ancient Egypt and Asia of the Pink City. Considered one of the oldest museums of Asian art in France, the site reveals one of the finest collections of oriental art on three millennia with works coming straight from India, Cambodia, Indonesia, Tibet, Nepal or Japan or Thailand.

Founded in the late nineteenth century, it is named after the famous traveler and ethnologist who bequeathed his unique and incredible collections. It takes place in an impressive neo-Moorish style building surrounded by a garden of Asian and Mediterranean plants where it is possible to admire bamboo and palm trees.

The Georges Labit museum offers regular thematic exhibitions and fun workshops and learning about Asian culture.
