The Penautier hotel (or Pennautier) is located Toulouse, Velane street.
This mansion was built in the mid-seventeenth century on behalf of Henry Reich Pennautier, advisor to the requests of Parliament, who had bought a large plot for this purpose near the courthouse and the cathedral. The building has architectural similarities with the Parisian mansions built in this period: the facades are organized around a courtyard. They were originally covered with plaster designed to dial a full color game with the main material, brick, but the coating was removed in the early twentieth century.
In 1712 the building was purchased by Jean-Mathias Riquet, whose father Paul Riquet was the engineer in charge of construction of the Canal du Midi. Around 1750, his heirs are the frontage overlooking the garden, with pediments, segmental windows, carved staples and typical masks of Toulouse architecture 1750s, this charming place then can accommodate receptions.
In 1815 the mansion was bought by the Count of Villele Mayor Toulouse and Minister of Louis XVIII.
