Private Mansion of Hautpoul

Monument in Toulouse

The mansion Hautpoul was erected in 1560 by Pierre de Hautpoul Malaret Street in the historic center of Toulouse. The building remains in the family of this parliamentary counselor until 1755 when it was bought by Jean Desinnocens Maurens, also adviser to parliament. It endows the building of a grand staircase with wrought iron railing and whose cage is decorated with plasterwork, elements that justify, with the door to street, ranking overall.

In 1771, it is Malaret Francis, vicar general, who becomes the owner. After the Revolution, the building hosts the small seminary Toulouse.

However, after the Second War, the entire area subject to a re-qualification and operation of urban modernization. Although protected as historical monuments, the hotel was finally razed in 1964.
