Tarquimpol is a village on the peninsula Lindre pond, which, with its village character preserved are one of the most beautiful villages of Lorraine. It is an ancient Roman city, once located on the main Roman roads (Paris-Trèves. ..).
Today, the town is one of the high places of nature tourism in Moselle, located in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional de Lorraine, in the region of large ponds Moselane. Preserved waves of urbanization recent Tarquimpol boasts an architectural heritage preserved, whose best example is the Alteville castle dating from the 16th and 18th centuries. It was inhabited by general empire and by Stanislas de Guaita, whose tomb in the cemetery of Tarquimpol, always attracts audiences from far sometimes.
