Located in southern Aveyron in a natural setting, is a common Sylvanès Parc Naturel Régional des Grands Causses. Sylvanès village is nestled in the valley along the meadow watered by the rill Cabot. This site was chosen by the Cistercians in the 12th century to establish a monastery housing a community removed from the world, which was a century heyday.
There is nowadays more Sylvanès monks, but the abbey saw over thirty years with the Friends of the Abbey and the various activities of the International Centre for Cultural and musical events that drive the place.
