Staple is a commune in the North, in the region of Hauts-de-France, about ten kilometers northwest of Hazebrouck.
The territory of the locality, vast of 10 km ², neighbor the limit "east" of the department of Pas-de-Calais, and belongs to the natural and historical region of Flanders.
Seat of a powerful seigniory under the Old Regime that will even be established as a Viscount, Staple has retained a predominantly rural landscape known for its hops cultivation. However, industrial units were once established in the town, where the remains of a forge are still visible.
Its proximity to the pretty village of Cassel, its green environment and its heritage make Staple, affected by the fighting of the First World War, a pleasant stage before reaching the coast (Dunkirk is less than 40 km).
