Souvigny-en-Sologne

The village of Souvigny-en-Sologne is best known to house natural areas perfect for the practice of outdoor entertainment.

Souvigny-en-Sologne houses part of the forest of Lamotte-Beuvron on its territory. The latter covers nearly 2000 hectares of Vouzon, Chaumont-sur-Tharonne and Lamotte-Beuvron. It is located in the Sologne area included in the Natura 2000 network and hosts a natural area of ​​ecological interest, flora and fauna. Lamotte-Beuvron forest site is perfect for family walks, mushroom picking or picnics little getaway.

Built in the twelfth century, the Church of St. Martin in its present exterior caquetoire typical of the region, a large porch protected by an awning. Visitors can see inside beautiful paintings of the seventeenth century. The oldest part is the nave, which dates from the late eleventh century. The choir has meanwhile been fully rebuilt in the sixteenth century.

Every first Sunday of May, Souvigny-en-Sologne offers its famous fair geese with nearly 150 exhibitors and numerous activities.
