Things to see and do

Of Sommières to Caveirac, close to Nîmes, the greenway provides walking in all its forms and safely. It is primarily intended for the practice of non-motorized vehicles: bicycles, rollerblades, strollers, wheelchairs and pedestrians of course. Built on the former route of the railway, the route passes through countryside and villages of the Pays de Sommières and Vaunage. The Vidourle, thanks to the quality of its landscape, a river is very popular with fishermen. The richness and diversity of its communities provide shelter for many species. A Sommières, the banks are equipped with a course CARP ANGLERS. To fish, you must be equipped with a fishing license, available all year at the Tourist Office. Near the campsite on the edge of Sommières Vidourle, a part of the river was built in summary for swimming and for your enjoyment because you can soak up the sun. Warning: the river swimming is allowed but it is not supervised by a lifeguard.

Events and festivities

For centuries, the city of Sommières, instead of trade and commerce, seduces visitors with its Saturday morning market. Full-color squares and streets host numerous exhibitors throughout the year. But perhaps in the months of spring and summer that the market and the flea market is especially lively and attractive.

Every Wednesday evening in the summer in July and August from 18h, the night market to discover crafts and local products. For some time one of the great fairs of the past, the fair of Saint Michel in late October, was handed up to date, attracting a large crowd.
