Village of Corsica, Solaro takes place in the department of Haute-Corse, in the microregion of Covasina. The southernmost commune of Haute-Corse, Solaro is located about forty kilometers from Lecci, at 500 meters altitude.
Offering access to the Mediterranean Sea, the village of Solaro is very popular with visitors for its calm and beautiful scenery of sea and maquis. Populated since the Iron Age, it owes its name to its very important sunshine throughout the year.
Solaro continues to reveal today the appearance of a typical Corsican village, with its stone houses and colorful shutters. The municipality also has some architectural remains testifying to its history and its occupation over the centuries.
