Kérouzéré Castle is situated on the coastal town of Sibiril in Finistère, a few kilometers west of Saint-Pol-de-Léon.
It is a fortress built between 1425 and 1458 by John Kérouzéré then chamberlain of the Duke Brittany, on the site of an earlier motte which had been erected a first dungeon in the fourteenth century.
During the Wars of Religion, the castle then owned support of Henry IV, Stone Boiséon, the troops of the League twice besieged the fortress and it was amputated of its southwest tower and a curtain.
In Brest, the stronghold of Kérouzéré was one of the few strongholds to the cause of the king, so once its finally gained victory and full exercise sovereign Henry IV rehabilitate the dismantled building in the assault at the expense of the leaders of the League in Britain.
Built in granite stone size, slated, the building consists of a house with two floors and its interior is decorated with paintings of the seventeenth.
Ranked since 1883, Castle Kérouzéré has a park have been built a dovecote, a fountain, a well, a wash house.
Redesigned in the twentieth century, consisting of a row of plane trees to rhododendrons, hydrangeas, camellias and overlooking the sea north, the park also includes a wooded area.
The exterior of the castle are free all year.
