Sevrier is a town on a human scale, at the gates of Annecy and its old town.
Nestled between the pure waters of the lake and the green slopes of the Semnoz, Sevrier is a harmonious compromise between a town where life is good and a modern tourist resort.
Fully committed to the development of structures suitable for everyone, including people with disabilities, the town offers a real range of pleasures:
- Water pleasures with the completely renovated municipal beach and the port which bring together many nautical activities for all tastes.
- Cycling pleasures with the cycle path (Voie Verte) and the climbs to Col de Leschaux and Semnoz.
- Pedestrian pleasures with the hike to the cross of Chuguet.
- Cultural pleasures with the discovery of the Ecomusée du Lac d'Annecy & the Paccard Museum.
Sevrier, with a long history spanning several millennia, was known to the Romans as Severiacus. Its hamlets, Chuguet, Létraz (Étraz from the Latin stratum) take their name from the Roman road which led from Annecy to Faverges. Sevrier is also a territory whose history dates back to the earliest times with the remains of two pile-dwelling sites classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.
