Charming town of Charente-Maritime, Semussac takes place in the peri-urban crown of Royan, not far from Saujon, Gémozac or Grézac.
Occupied since the Neolithic period, as evidenced by the remains found on site, the territory of Semussac subsequently developed in the Gallo-Roman period, then in the Middle Ages. Former seat of the barony of Didonne, the town has long distinguished itself by its agricultural activity.
Today very touristy, the city of Charente benefits from its ideal location close to the seaside resorts of the Côte de Beauté or Royan.
